Default How many Red Snapper did you keep last year?

I kept 18 with an average weight of 5 pounds for a total of 90 pounds. Was that too many for myself?

I didn't have a boat until after the season, but I'll bet at least 100 pounds of snapper made a nice meal for a shark or dolphin. I try to vent them and de hook them in the water and revive them before letting them go, but some of them still die. BTW, I haven't weighed any of them, but the average size I've caught is well over 5 pounds.

To answer your question, if all of the meat is getting eaten either by your family or if you are sharing it with others then no, that's not too many.

I may keep records again this year, I did back in 07, 08, but they were so plentiful , I just lost interest in keeping track.
Back then I thought it was a treat to catch one , the way NOAA talked about " Extinction .
Now they are a nuisance , And keeping track isn't as much fun !!
