I used to buy my rod parts all the time at the navarre half hitch. There was a friendly guy (short guy, sorry cant remember his name) who would let me pick out the parts I needed from a box. I would lable everything I needed with a price and then pay the buck or so per piece to finish wrapping my rods. I never went back after I overheard a tall guy with a beard (manager probably) yelling at him because I was unsupervised and he thought I was stealing.

For the $1.25 he thought he was saving from my unsupervised kleptomaniac self, all of my business has gone to other shops. I have no problem with his theory, just dont yell at an employee in public AND let the customers hear you think they steal.

I believe the short guy you are referring to is Dewayne (No longer at Half Hitch) and the taller guy is Ben (No longer at Half Hitch). Dewayne was always willing to help, but the behavoir you described sounds typical of Ben. I don't know how you can expect to be in ratail when you have ZERO people skills.

I've gone into a lot of local tackle shops and I can say that I have had great service in each and every one of them. I've never had a bad experience anywhere. I guess I must be lucky after reading this post.
