My thought on the clear is that it would be cool but there are times you might rather not know what's lurking below.
problem to me is that the 11' mako swimming under you can see you too.. I wonder how well it can stand up to 30mph hit from a big mako or tiger thinking you are a snack sitting on the surface. no thanks. i'll stick to fiber glass and twin 300's on the back.
That's kinda what I was getting at. As a boater, I know how hard they are to see in calm seas, much less in 2-4ft swells. That is why my kayaks are bright yellow.
With these clear ones, you might as well just be swimming in the pass...
