Is there any chance of damage to an outboard from the freezing weather?

The water naturally drains from an outboard, just lower the unit....you might want to bump the motor to turn the inpellar once, to allow the water inbetween the finns to get out.....
thats the nice thing about outboards living up north you can use them right up to hard water(ice) with no problem,I've been out in early spring with ice still on our lakes.

I have always been told not to store them trimmed up so that rainwater can collect in the bottom behind prop. lower them and it can not collect.
Same goes with I/O s |
