The man swam farther in the water to cut loose the shark, but that turned out to be a very bad idea.<P id=paragraph3>"I'm looking at him and I'm thinking, 'Geez,I wouldn't do that,'"one witness told WPTV.<P id=paragraph4>The man grabbed the shark with both hands trying to get the hook out. Bad idea No. 2.<P id=paragraph5>The thrashing shark, none to happy with his predicament,spun andbit the fisherman on his lower leg after it was freed.<P id=paragraph6>According to a witness on scene, he had about six puncture marks on him. He was treated at a West Palm Beach Hospital.<P id=paragraph7>Officials said red flag warnings were on the beach because spinner sharks routinely spawn on the coast this time of year.</DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">His mistake was not talking in a soothing tone to the shark. They like that; it relaxes them. Although I can?t dog him too much I?ve made a bonehead move in my youth. I was bridge fishing in John?s Pass (St Petersburg) and it was early and I hadn?t had my coffee and I didn?t get much sleep and I didn?t ?? I caught a stingray, pulled it up onto the bridge, put a towel over it?s back, stepped on it, took out the hook and then PICKED IT UP! Needless to say it wasn?t happy with it?s predicament and stung me in the forearm; the barb went in at my wrist all the way to my elbow. What a rush.
