Usually do not wander over to beach road but did today, it aught to be fun come summer, and Fourth of July should be like Talladega but it was kind of funny watching the snow birds try to figure out what exactly they are supposed to do. Maybe the visitors will just get tired of the experiment and just go elsewhere next time.

Darrell Skipper. He owns Skipper Consulting. He and another guy wrote the access management plan for ALDOT. ALDOT doesn't do a thing without Skipper's approval. This is all Darrell Skipper.

Just wait until you are fourth in line at the U behind a couple of semi rigs and a mega cab with a 36 yellowfin, good times. Mr. Skipper is an outright genius.

I was behind 4 snowbirds yesterday and almost didn't make the light. And, so far, everyone that is in the left u turn lane tries to come over into the right during the u turn. Every time.

As bad as that spot is I don't think it is going to be the worst area. On the west end of the islands in front of the BBT bank, there is no place to make a u-turn but lots of people are stopping in the west bound left lane to make the u-turn to go east. They are blocking traffic from the east and jumping into traffic coming from the west.

To make things worse, if that is possible, drivers coming from the west that want to turn into WalMart are either cutting thru the BBT parking lot at a high rate of speed or I've seen two drivers cut into the west bound lane and drive the 40-50 feet to go into the entrance.

I predict lots of frustration from the Cotton Bayou boat and Beach area but I bet the first wreck will come in front of the BBT bank.

Already nearly happened many times - if not actually happened for real. Just wait until they start the next phase in the Fall of this year. It will start where they leave off this spring..... down near BBT / Seachase. That'll slow them down.
Can't do much about it other than watch! Just don't let some dumb driver get the best of you- and be careful!
