<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #1f5080; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: 'Verdana','sans-serif'">Well I sold mine last Tuesday and I cried she was a great boat and I will miss her!! But I was hoping I could get some input from some of yall. With in the next few years I plan on buying abigger one somewhere between a 24' and a 27'. I know that there are a lot of variables but what the pro and cons on those sizes. For example: ride, fuel consumption, range, and fish ability. Towing no problems there. The max distance I will venture out 70-75 miles weather pending. Well the main question is can the 24 perform as well as the 27 in that range<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #1f5080; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: 'Verdana','sans-serif'"><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #1f5080; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: 'Verdana','sans-serif'">Thanks Phillip

The 23-24 foot Cape Horns are machines! I know several people who take their Cape's that size you the floating rigs 80+ miles out.

From what I hear the 24 is pretty good and the 23T (26 footer) is good. Never been on the 27 but I hear it is a wet beater.

We have an 04 24' cape with t-150's, wish we had 200's but not enough to buy a pair. As mentioned earlier,we havecamped at horn mountain and ram powell on different trips and ran out there more often. Fuel enconomy around 2mpg, we usually don't ride wot so we get a little better mpg's, never put more than 130 gallons after a trip and still have 85 gals left over.

Thanks guys that is what i was hoping to hear my little 21 was a machine as well. I have heard that the 27 does ride sloppyand the fuel economy would be worse so with that beingsaid the 24is the way to go. Again thanks for the input

I've been on most of the models in that size range and tournament fished on most of them at one time or another......there's actually a pic of me and bonita dan in the Cape Horn 23T photo gallery on their site.
the 23T/24 older models with twins are great boats, good economy, will beat you a bit but it's a class boat. the new 23T(26) with the redesigned hulls are great and can take up to twin F250's, they can take some pretty sizable water also and no where near the beating tournament fished a 27, no longer made, they are the older hull design, they are tanks, will beat the tar out of you and wet but as I said, they are tanks. the 31 is in my opinion, about the best larger center console on the market for the money, built like a tank also, not wet like the 27, a great ride and set down easy in big seas, not wet like the horns of old either, they don't have the speed of some of the others out there but after 10 yrs use, you still won't have any stress cracks in the boat....

I have a 2003 24 I love the boat! We camped about 2 weeks ago about 12mi sse of the squiggle, when we woke up we were 32mi sse of squiggle. started fishing home and never worried about fuel. The boat is also made to be tougher than you are in rough seas.the only way i would ever sell mine, would be to go up to the 31. the 31ride is much better and is just as economical, but the 24 has the same range as the 31.
