Tried to get an early start on Pompano season today. Brought the wife and kids 'cause it was sooo nice outside, but didn't catch anything. However, we did see a 15'or bigger shark. At first I could'nt see it very well and assumed it was a school of rays. Then a helicopter came and circled a few times then left, so I took a closer look. By that timeit was closer to shore and a crowd had formed. Everyone was taking pictures and video. It stayed within casting distance for2 hours.:doh If I would've known, I would've gone home real quick and got my shark gear.:banghead Oh yeah, we were about two miles West of the Navarre pier. I was hoping to see it on the 5 o'clock news, but didn't. Anyone know what that helicopter might have been about?

If it was a Mako it was a little early. They usually follow the Cobia migration. Awesome fish!

Anyone want to buy a few surfboards?
I think Chickenbone is right and has talked me out of surfing forever. |
