Default asking for Ft Walton/Destin advice

I am coming down to stay on the ICW at Ft Walton this Saturday for 7 days and as suggested will not tow my boat down.

Have posted in the 'need a ride ' section.
Will be beach, flats and local fishing .Also heads boat fishing plans. Would appreciate any input on how to best insure I get into some fish, conditions vary and not living down there what I think will work may in fact not be good at present(or ever !). I hear from some that the red tide last year is still having lingering affects on that whole area.

I like catching blues most,I also love to eat them.
Personal tastes differ.
Very happy with pompano, macks, specs, reds, white/sand trout.

Here are my rough plans:
Do at least two trips on heads boats out of Destin.
Fish incoming tides under Destin bridge with cut pins/mullet for blues.
Sunrises on the beach on Okaloosa island on way to Destin with sandfleas (hope I can rake some!), else use fresh shrimp tails for bait.
Free line live glass minnows and shrimp under lights at night for specs.
Take that hike out to the east and west jetties at the Destin pass a few times. Not sure what baits to try there though.
Fish cutbait at a sunset from that beached barge by the T pier at Val P.

Any other suggestions or any of those things I mentioned just not working at present?
Again, thanks for the advice,I do appreciate it!

The lighted docks on the ICW in the FWB area are really starting to heat up. Lots of medium sized specks and redfish are starting to show. Shark fishing in the surf in the late afternoon/early evening is productive. Lots of blacktips roaming the beaches. The little muddy bayous on the north side of Choctawhatchee Bay are producing lots of small redfish, ladyfish and some specks. PM me and I will give you more info on location and bait.

At the jetties, throw Gotchas, straw rigs or pomp jig and you'll get Spanish, blues and maybe some ladyfish.

Throw some big fresh on the bottom and you could get sheep, reds or even a grouper.

Thanks JoeZ, I will try that. The jetties at the pass have been some of my 'luckier' spots.

It's a great little place. Watch your lines though, those boats don't care what you're doing, they'll tear you up.
