Wirelessly posted

You can catch them that way, but you're putting yourself at a serious disadvantage. You're better off sightfishing for them no matter what size boat you're on.

I will be anchoring and chumming as I don't have a tower. I'll send 15-20 lbs of chum down on my anchor chain and also have some off the back of the boat. Also will be sitting over a near shore wreck while chumming.

April - Fish the trough between the 1st and 2nd sand bars very early in morning with live pinfish on bottom.

May - Chum over high vertical reliefs aound 8-9 am. Don't forget the bouys. Cobia hold at night for some reason in May and then come up and continue migrating mid morning.

I was thinking of trying this too. Have a tower and still couldn't spot many. Have had a few come up to the boat while shark fishing. Couldn't hurt to try and also saves a little gas

This guy anchored on a wreck off the coast of Kuwait last March and shot this bad boy with a speargun.
