Default AL. Saltwater Fishing License (Out of State)

I just priced an annual out of state Alabama fishing license and ifI read correctly the price is 47 dollars and it expires at the end of August. Is that correct? If so, I just want to thank the great state of Alabama and government in general for finding so many ways to get money from citizens. I will be buying the license today, as living on Innerarity Pointit's hard to know when you are in AL vs FL. I've studied the maps but I hate to split hairs and don't want a ticket. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Maybe I should just run to Ft. McRea instead of AL. Point, then I wouldn't need the license.I just like running Old River to AL. Pointcuz it lays down smooth compared to the ICW on the way to P'cola Pass. I'm just looking for spots to beach where my girl can lay out and I can fish!

Buy the license in August so it is good for the year. Alabama started the August to August time frame several years ago to use as a basis for budget and it works well. Take a look at the things that have happened here in just the last five years and it's hard to argue they don't have things going right IMHO. BTW, it rubbed me wrong the first time I had to do it b/c it was not advertised well and I usually bought the license in the spring when the weather broke. Hunting licenses are the same way.

I need the license to be valid starting now. That's the downside for me. 50 bucks now, 50 more in September, ifI read correctly. That's an extra 50 bucksI could have used for some live shrimp and a case of beer to take a fellow forum member fishing!

I agree with the last post. License is bought and paid for now. Guess I'll pony up another 50 in September.

And if I happen to get a good fish on and want to let Angela reel it in I guess I'll pony up another 50 for her. Aargh!

Yep it sucks. But, wait until you buy a Louisiana fishing license. Alabama charges non-residents what those states charge their citizens. Why can't we have fishing license like a drivers license? One price gets you where you want to go? Hell, the states don't own the game, it comes and goes at it wants to.

Lane and I were lucky enough to get on the Alabama license the first year it went into effect and actually got 13-14 months for the price of a year's license.
