angus_cow_doctor (3/3/2010)Excuse me if I don't go and bow down at the feet of the great and all-powerful federal government. The same one that told us how much better things were getting in the unemployment claims in January, and now I just found out that instead of only losing 20,000 jobs, we ACTUALLY lost 60,000 jobs. But never let the facts stand in the way of a FAVORABLE story.
The question that I pose to you is this: (and yes, I have been watching Glen Beck)
If the root word of Progressivism is PROGRESS, then what are we "progressing" towards? It sure is not more freedom. It sure is not fiscal responsibility. And it sure is not lower taxes. From my perspective, it looks like we are "progressing" towards communism.
While Obama is not the CAUSE of all the problems, he certainly is not the solution. He seems to be making things worse by the day, and you can tell when he is lying, because his lips are moving.... I especially enjoyed his comment the other day about how "We are not campaigning for election anymore" to McCain. Which is to say, he no longer has to spend his time thinking up the next promise to the American public that he never intended to keep.
Forgive me if I feel like the government should stay out of stuff that should be handled at home by responsible, hard working, humble parents.

I'm not really following how we went from a story on vandalism to criticizing the government. Shouldn't we be blaming the parents for not supervising their kids? Have those previously responsible parents suddenly bought bb guns for their kids under this administration, and released them on the neighbors?
Chopped liver, i'm sorry this happened. A lot of people do suck. I remember a story a few years back that somone shot a horse in a field just for fun. How sick is that?

this is how this thing got started......
(Quote)
Why take care of your heathen children when the government says they can do a better job?
I am sure that the parents were too busy smoking some crack........
and the rest, well, that was just a brief foray into the torential undercurrents of political dissatisfaction that this great nation is experiencing.......
I will add to this fun "discussion" . Someone listed these kids as being "bored". (I think it was WW2. Apologize in advance if it was someone else). When I was growing up, I did not have time to be "bored". I was working 2 jobs in highschool. My family farmed to help make ends meet. The old chevy truck I still drive to work EVERY DAY was bought and paid for by a peanut crop we had in 1994.
We never asked for a bailout. We never expected government to help us. We got out there and worked hard, every day!
My wife teases me because I can not name off any toys that I had growing up. The truth is, we had few to no toys. I vaguely remember an old yellow tractor that was secondhand.
I think these kids should not be "bored", and it is every bit their parents fault for allowing it to happen this way. We are growing a generation of kids with narcicism as their main sense of morality.
