I'm brand new to the area and have been fishing all my life. The problem is I've been freshwater fishing. I've never been fishing in saltwater. My wife and I just moved into the area and have steady access to fishing boats and I really want to learn the ins and outs of it all. Right now the only thing my gear consists of is a brand new rod and a net.

What kind of tackle would I need for this area?

What types of fish are typically found around here?

Where's a good place to start looking?

I'm really looking for any and all good information/advice that's out there. If anyone feels like taking a trip out on the water to fish I'd be more than willing to go out and learn, I'll buy the beer.
