A premium stretch neoprene made for diving is quite a bit different than the hyperflex access suit or any of the low-midrange suits. You've gotta feel it to see the difference.
You don't have to have a premium suit for diving the local area, especially in the summer, but they sure are nice in the cooler months when a good snug fit with retained mobility is important.
