JoeZ (7/3/2009)My experiences have always ben the exact opposite.

Took the moms out to go snapper fishing one ime and it was too rough so stayed in the bay and limited out on red snapper and got a few grouper on a spot I lucked up on. Took my brother's GF out on her first saltwater trip and slayed the white trout, found massive schools of bull reds and did well on the lucky spot we found with mom.

But, the motor wouldn't go past 3500 rpm on that trip and then there was the whole shark tournament/fishing trip where we lost the biggest grouper I've ever seen at the boat, I hurled for a few hours steady and we didn't catch crap in the end so it kind of balances out.

Will, sounds like just shit luck but atleast you got out. How nasty was the water where you were trolling?

Not to bad.2 feet.Perfect for the right lures to ride down the ways and leave perfect little smoke trails and POP..water was semi OK not blue but not to green either. And dont say Karma either.I know sometimes im an ass on the forum but off here is completely different. This trip was for a freind in need that wanted to give a dad a good day of fishing on the water.they were great people.

also did i mention my girlfriend turned 4 of her fingers to hamburger when she decided to grab something she wasnt supposed to.yeah we were gonna take her back but she wantedto keep fishing. After 20 minutes of first aid and wipiong all the blood up she was good to go with a few tylenol.Im proud of her for sticking in there and toughening it out.I thought she was gonna get sick but she didnt.just a shitty day.Im leaving this one in the history books.
