I'm a frequent PFFvisitor and co-owner/managing partner of an upstart IT consulting and managed services firm in the Pensacola area.
New business venture = no time to fish = no reason to post, soI fish vicariously through those of you who do actually fish and post about it...so...thanks!!!
That said, I'm currently looking to put a key piece of my business plan into place. I'm looking to fill a marketing/sales position as soon as I can find the candidate that is willing and able to make my firm a "household" name local in the local business communityand, eventually, regionally. In very general terms, that candidate will:
Be fluent in the firm's service offerings at a high level (the IT consultants will support your efforts at the lower technical levels)
Perform market research and analysis
Collaborate with management to develop and maintain a marketing strategy
Sell...Sell...Sell
Given the nature of the services, sales efforts and subsequent client retention will have to be relationship-based, so, unfortunately, some of your duties may require time at a restaurant, on a golf course, on a fishing trip, etc.

I say this to emphasize the strong social aspect of this position.
My vision for this firm is to keep it as grass-roots and local as I can, while building something to contribute in some way to putting our area on the business services and technology map.
PM me if you're interested in the details.
