bamafan (10/13/2008)2004 is a common rail injection with a CP3 pump . which line was leaking? and those hard lines carry around 23,000 psi

2004...... yes...comon rail injection, yes..23,000#'s psi. Ordered hard line $55.00. 2003 and later engines are primed by the transfer lift pump (mine is in the tank not on engine)when the key is turned on, runs2 seconds when the key is in the run position, runs 25 seconds in the crank position. If I had thought about it I would of removed the #5 fuel line, took a hammer to it and crushed the line. Don't know if I'd have enough power on 5 cylinders to tow 12,000#. Part will be in tomorrow, then heading to Gadsden. Just wanted to pick someone else's brain before I go (better to have many different ideas other then just my own, before heading out). I did get a good thought from Chris, and thats to bring starting fluid. I'll also bring a can of WD-40. I know I don't have a lift problem as fuel escapes the defective line, like a lawn sprinkler.....only under high pressure.:banghead
Sure glad it was #5 cylinder and NOT #6.....:doh
