I think the problem with a lot of these servers is they expect a 15% and up tip from everyone, they see the tables full oftips and not people. I don't look at it like that. Your tip starts at 0% when you walk up to the table as you have done nothing for me. As you work and serve me your tip goes up.
Also I don't tip as much at buffet joints, if I'm getting my own food and all you do is tell me where to sit and check on my drink every now and then you won't get a 15% tip from me. Call me a cheap bastard if you want.
